ai take, doctorow, open access@jeder Like Cory Doctorow just wrote, there’s going to be good things from the bubble. The companies consider supporting, in one way or another, the various means of Open Access to the extent that it could let them sell the knowledge themselves. The possible open access itself isn’t even that much of a competition to them, especially if they keep the lead in better bandwidth.
The establishment holdings want as many people to access the materials directly and pay — but the piracy institutions only want to provide everyone with reliable access and need funds for that, not keep the traffic through it boosted.
And like Cory Doctorow mentioned as an example, chatbots boosted Tailwind popularity while bringing its online resources and paid products the least visitors and profit ever. This is what could happen to the publisher subscriptions and they know it.
