so, if you're wondering why it's been over an hour, it's because windows 3.0 has refused to cooperate. i'm pretty sure it's some file that's installed which it doesn't like, possibly the VGA driver i installed. i decided i'm just gonna start over from scratch
after even more pain and suffering, i guess windows 3.0 just won't properly install if you've installed windows 2.03 over windows 1.04? seems to be working now...
well, i finally made it... here's windows 3.0 with an absolutely hideous theme which copied over from the very orange theme from windows 2.0, except it didn't look this horrible then... i'm gonna have to change this, this is even worse than hot dog stand
hey, when i try to run the old paint, i get this message! i posted about this recently, it's actually still in windows 10 to this day! it might also be accessible in windows 11 if you copy over NTVDM from windows 10, although i'm not sure if this message is part of the OS or NTVDM itself
so, i've backed up all the previous executables from windows 1 and 2 (as well as some DOS programs) and put them in program groups so i can test them out on windows 3.0
all of the windows 2.03 programs seem to at least mostly work, except for clock for some reason which crashes it. here's a cursed sight, windows 2.03's MS-DOS executive running under windows 3.0. for some reason when you check the about screen it crashes
