@jeder I used that for a while!! I ended up with Unexpected Keyboard in the end though, it's the same concept but on a traditional qwertz/qwerty layout
Is that a Thumb-Key you got there? :3 # Thumb-Key is great for tiny phones! # Avant-garde keyboards keep me from mastering texting. # They just allow me to spend too much time composing a block of text.
@jeder gboard has a bunch of others too! a PC layout that gives you all the buttons, a Clearflow based one for optimized swipe typing, and a handwriting one if you like tormenting yourself with handwriting.
on fdroid there's a keyboard named "aaaaa" which only has the most important keys:
@inderix@jeder if you have a stylus Gboard turns into a pill on the side of the screen and you just write on the text field. It sucks complete ass though
@jcktmn@jeder I ran a KaiOS phone as my daily driver forever ago and it had an enhanced version of T9 that had autocomplete and no need to mash each key like 2-3 times to get specific letters and honestly I was a fan. I'd press the keys that had the letters i want and the thing would automatically figure out what i was trying to say, and i could fall back to pressing each key multiple times to spell things outside of its dictionary.
@inderix@jeder i also daily drive a kaios phone and honestly i just set it to lowercase ("abc"), its a bit of a hassle compared to qwerty imo but you get a flow going
