@ielenia i will be still annoyed by the fact of second door being in the usual position for two-door layout and not three-door

@jeder huh didn't know that

also i think i know why, our wheelchair ramps are still at the front (probably to maintain compatibility with the existing fleet of E40LFRs and Nova buses)

@gen @ielenia like seriously
ever since covid they stopped giving a single shit about what doors they open, since then they always open just second and third doors, and maybe first if you decide to leave the bus through them

@jeder @ielenia over here, all doors do get opened if there's someone getting off, if there isn't, the rear doors sometimes do get opened, sometimes don't

@gen @ielenia here in bigger cities the standard is that you open the doors with the buttons near them

@jeder @gen idk what gen is on about, most buses in vancouver require pressing on a touch bar or similar to open (and the new ones have buttons) unless the operator specifically overrides it which is mostly for the rapidbus lines

in Seattle though the doors are all driver controlled and the drivers pretty much always open the rear doors if you requested a stop - although king county metro also enforces exiting out the rear for most people (the driver barrier covers the line where you aren't supposed to stand anyways and they don't pull it back unless you actually need to leave through the front)

@ielenia @jeder @gen

seattle used to have the touch bars to open the back doors but people were too stupid to use them.
