The other day I was on M6 (S). They closed the motorway from junction 4 onwards (probably for HS2 works), so as part of this closure all three lanes had to cram into the first lane. The Highway Code specifically states that you should use all the available space in slow moving traffic when there is a lane drop.
I was in lane three, so I kept there until the merge point, which was signed off every 100 m for 800 m. Well, some idiot thought they could play plastic traffic cop and wouldn’t let me merge in. Why? Just let me in??? Thankfully the guy behind him stopped so I could merge in.
Literally, I feel like some people think that using the other lanes in this situation is like “queue jumping” when it is literally and actually how you are supposed to drive your car. I feel like I’m the only person on the road who understands how to drive sometimes.
