uuh, how do i find out how much a train trip in poland is gonna cost without being in poland. deutsche bahn is uncooperative and search engines are shit :blobcat_cactus:
@tastytea you are in for a ride for international trains you get mobile pkp intercity app for regio trains with or without transfers to another regio train; and intercity trains you use koleo.pl for regio trains with transfers to intercity trains and viceversa you use bilkom.pl
@elexia@tastytea yeah like: - trains are owned by train operators or provinces, which include PKP Intercity, PKP Cargo, PKP SKM w Trójmieście, SKM Warszawa, Koleje Dolnośląskie etc, - platforms, passenger information infrastructure on platforms and station buildings, tracks, signalling is owned by PKP PLK - overhead wires, various train petrol stations and electrical substations are owned by PGE Energetyka Kolejowa (earlier known as PKP Energetyka) - the station buildings themselves are owned by PKP SA which is not PKP PLK, however many of them are actually owned by municipalities - there's also this PKP TELKOL thing which is apparently engaged in maintaining overhead wires, telecommunications and dynamic passenger info??
@elexia@tastytea oh and then there's PKP Informatyka which is responsible for this mess with regard to ticket apps did you know that they made: - Portal Pasażera which is PKP PLK's website and app for checking timetables, delays - Bilkom which is their own thing for checking timetables and getting tickets - PKP.appka which is this fancy "modern" PKP SA app for displaying various info that is already possible to see on Portal Pasażera - PKP Intercity which is, well, PKP Intercity ticketing app, in which you can get just PKP Intercity tickets
